Narragunnawali Reconciliation Action Plan

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

To liberate young men through a Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition.

Acknowledgment of the rightful place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and connection to Country.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Nations Peoples of this country and are committed to learning from their continued connection and care of Country, and through their spirituality and culture.

Our vision for reconciliation is that St Patrick’s grows as a community where everyone, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and families feel welcome, safe, are free to express their identity, and control their own destinies.

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition, we commit to the truth telling of our nation. We are committed to moving together in action so that our young people grow in understanding of Australian history and the possibilities to build a liberating future for all and “imagine what might be possible.”

Our goal is for all young people to “have the freedom to be whatever a human mind can dream and the freedom to write a new story.”

We are committed to the story telling at Uluru to be more than just a statement.
