Back to Shorncliffe Day - 5 June 2021

On Saturday 5 June, St Patrick's College will be hosting fellow EREA school St Laurence’s College, at Curlew Park for our ‘Back to Shorncliffe’ Day and Round 6 of AIC Football and Rugby.  Back to Shorncliffe Day is a family day which promises to be a great event for our Community, and we look forward to sharing it with our families, past students, St Laurence’s College, and the wider community.  This round also coincides with the Indigenous round which will be celebrated across all AIC Schools throughout the day.

The College, in partnership with Sandbag Community Centres and Services and the DV Safe Phone organisation, will be conducting a Domestic Violence awareness campaign on the day.  This will include the collection of second-hand mobile phones, which will be repurposed for use by victims of Domestic Violence.  If you have any mobile phones you would like to donate, please drop these off to the DV Safe Phones drop off point at Curlew Park on the day.  More information on this program and how to prepare your old phone can be found at Donate Phones (dvsafephone.org).

We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us in the carnival atmosphere, to cheer on our Football and Rugby players along with our Paddy's Battalion, who promise to be out in full force.

The following will be available on the day for everyone to enjoy:

  • Music & Entertainment;
  • Curlew Park Canteen;
  • Coffee Vans; and Food Trucks.

FOR STUDENTS AND PLAYERS

With Back to Shorncliffe Day being such an important College event, we are asking the following of all students:

  • Please ensure you ARRIVE at Curlew Park in full College formal uniform.
  • Players - please ensure you change straight back into your full College formal uniform immediately following your game.
  • Please make every effort to be there for the whole program from 7:30am – 5:00pm.
  • Please don't invite friends from other schools to the event as you will not be able to sit with them.   All students are required to be present in the grandstands with the SPC Community, not sitting around the grounds with other guests.
  • Let's all get down to Curlew Park on Saturday 5 June and hear the echo roar.

FOR PLAYERS

Back to Shorncliffe Day will also be our Co-Curricular Photo Day for Football and Rugby.  Players are asked to be in full player uniform for their photos. Schedule to be published closer to the event.

FOR PARENTS - HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

We are expecting a large crowd for Back to Shorncliffe Day and would appreciate any help you might be able to give in the Curlew Park Canteen or BBQ.  As little as 30 minutes can make a huge difference and we encourage all Parents to assist in the Canteen or on the BBQ where possible. VOLUNTEER FOR CURLEW CANTEEN HERE

PARKING

Parking at Back to Shorncliffe Day will be monitored by Security with assistance from the Police.  Please follow their instructions and only park in designated parking areas.

We look forward to sharing this wonderful Community event with you.
