2019 Paddy's Van Appeal

St Patrick's College prides itself in heeding Edmund Rice's call to be civic leaders and assist the poor and marginalised in our community. We encourage our students to do this by living our faith through action. Our flagship Paddy's Van program is just one way our students immerse themselves in community service. By assisting with the van, our students soon realise it is about more than just distributing food and blankets. It is about gaining a more genuine insight into those on the margins from society and seeking to form relationships with them.

The Paddy's Van and our volunteers provide a weekly breakfast service at Decker Park, dinner at the Sandgate Community Centre, serve regular healthy breakfast options at a nearby Redcliffe school and a BBQ in Sandgate Village every second Saturday night.

The Paddy's Van depends entirely on volunteers of students, parents and College staff. Day to day running costs of the Paddy's Van are met by the College, so support from the community assists us greatly in continuing to provide this much needed local service. If you can support the Paddy's Van through volunteering, donations or sponsorship please contact Stacey Bishop on foundation@stpatricks.qld.edu.au.

2019 Paddy's Van Appeal

Our Paddy’s Van has been the cornerstone of our Justice and Solidarity program for the past 15 years and has provided an opportunity for many young men to walk humbly with those less fortunate. As a College we have grown significantly over that time, but one thing remains unchanged – our commitment to justice and peace for all and standing with those in our society who are marginalised. We encourage every student to do this by living our faith through action. Our flagship Paddy's Van program is just one way our students immerse themselves in community service. By assisting with the van, our students soon realise it is about more than just distributing food and blankets. It is about gaining a more genuine insight into those on the margins from society and seeking to form relationships with them.

Now, we need your support to help our next generation of students to have the same experience. We need to replace our original Paddy’s Van and trailer that has traversed the community for so many years. We would love your support to help achieve this goal. Please give generously to our 2019 Paddy’s Van appeal, which is run by the St Patrick’s College Foundation. Donations of more than two dollars are tax deductible. With your support, the Paddy’s Van can continue to service the community and to help our students to be Men of Action.
