Design Technology

St. Patrick’s College has state-of-the-art facilities for students to gain practical skills in Shop A (Woodwork), Shop B (Metalwork), Graphics, Engineering, Furnishing and Manufacturing.

Students at St. Patrick’s College have the opportunity to study Design Technology subjects from Year 7. The Years 9 and 10 subjects in Design Technology give students the opportunity to develop an understanding of the tradition and technology behind many of the products that have become part of their daily lives. The Years 11 and 12 Industrial Skills courses are designed to benefit not only those students who may wish to enter directly into the workforce, but also those who desire a balance between practical experience and theoretical study.
