Co-Curricular Music Lessons

NEW STUDENTS IN 2020

If your son is currently studying an instrument or voice we would encourage him to continue in 2020 when he joins the St Patrick's College community. The College provides co-curricular instrument and voice lessons via our Co-Curricular Music Program. This program is very extensive, with a range of ensembles and many exciting performance opportunities throughout the year.

Lessons

Lessons run at fixed times throughout the week and students will participate in a 25 min lesson in either the first half or second half of an academic period each week. More than 350 young men from all year levels participate. Lessons are charged at $20 for a small group or $30 for an individual lesson and are billed on a term by term basis. We recommend the individual lessons as they are particularly targeted to your son and we work through both the AMEB and Trinity College syllabuses. Students are required to bring their instrument to school on the day of their lesson and store it in the Christian Brothers Building storage area.

Instruments
Students in the co-curricular music program supply their own instrument if they play flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, violin, viola, cello, acoustic guitar, electric guitar or bass guitar. If your son requires the use of a College french horn, euphonium, baritone, tuba, baritone saxophone, bass clarinet, bassoon, oboe or double bass please indicate this on the form below.

Cost

  • Private lessons - $30 per lesson
  • Group lessons (2-3 students) - $20 per lesson

If you would like your son to continue tuition on his current instrument, please fill out the form below.

The Co-curricular Music Coordinator will contact you early in 2020 regarding ensembles.
