Staff, students and the St Patrick’s sport community are looking forward to the holiday break. A massive thank you to all participants in our programs over the last term. The Trimester 2 Sports Awards will be held from 1:30pm on Tuesday 31 July. Award winners will be notified after the holiday break.

Trimester 3 sport consists of Basketball, Tennis, Cross Country and Track and Field. Students and parents should regularly check the REALM sports specific pages for up to date information on trials and preseason activities.

As previously communicated, St Patrick’s will not be able to cater for all students who have signed on for Basketball. Most AIC competitions will only accommodate four teams per College. This will be disappointing for the Basketball players who missed out on selection. Parents are asked to be positive with their sons and help us develop resilience in the young men on this possible bad news. Parents are asked not to purchase uniforms until students are confirmed in teams. At the trial on 21 July students will be permitted to play in HPE shirts.

Good luck to our Confraternity Rugby League team and officials who will compete in Division One from 1–6 July in Charters Towers. Also to our Basketball teams competing at the EREA (Edmund Rice Education Australia) tournament held at St James in Fortitude Valley over the holiday break.

The Cross Country coaches have scheduled holiday training for all age groups. All students are welcome to attend the holiday training sessions. The sessions times and venues have been posted on REALM.

The Sport Support Group are calling for expressions of interest in the paid role of Canteen Convenor for Curlew Park and Christian Brothers Building canteen. Our long time Convenor Mr David Row has retired and we are now searching for his replacement. For further details please contact Mr Liam Casey, Business Manager, on
