Last Saturday night our Men of Mooting competed in the QUT High School Moot Competition Grand Final. After some excellent legal discussion and debate against the well prepared team from Sommerville House the result was announced…

Unfortunately, this year the men went down in a split decision by the judges. Having said that, the judges commended the young men on their knowledge of the law and the complexities of their arguments. The calibre of the night was very high and all speakers would have benefited from presenting in the Banco Court within the Supreme Court Complex.

Our thanks go again to Old Boy Harrison Kecek who provided excellent advice and assistance to the men. Also thank you to the parents, staff and other supporters who were present to witness the boys speak. Lastly, a final congratulations to Nicholas Easey, Tom Kelman and Lucas McKerihan who participated in the moot for the final time, Oscar O’Brien has some big shoes to fill for next year’s team after learning the ropes this year.
