One week to go to complete the 2017 AIC team sports competitions. Our basketball teams were dominant in our results over Iona last Saturday.10A are now one game away from being crowned AIC Premiers. Our Tennis 2nd IV have wrapped up the AIC Premiership with still one round of the competition to be played. Students are reminded to thank their team coaches and officials at the conclusion of this week’s games for all the time and effort taken to give St Patrick’s students the opportunity to participate in sport.

The first Track and Field AIC meet is to be held on Thursday 5 October. This will be the first Thursday back after the holidays.The meet will be held at the University of Queensland, St Lucia. A bus will transport the students to and from the College. All squad members are encouraged to attend the three scheduled meets leading up to the AIC Championships on 24 and 25 October.Track and Field coaches will use the three meets to assist them in selecting the College team. Performances at Bramble Bay and Metropolitan North Championships will also be considered. Students attending these meets are required to wear the appropriate uniform. The St Patrick’s singlet with our green HPE shorts or Track and Field shorts. The green training shirt should be worn to and from the meet. The St Patrick’s hoodie is the only jumper permitted. Parents and spectators are welcome to attend the AIC Track and Field meets. A reminder Training and Field training and meets are open to all students, not just the athletes trying to gain school selection. All training sessions are listed on the St Patrick’s APP.

Water Polo is a popular sport amongst our swimmers. Polo Bears based at the Albany Creek Leisure Centre are currently looking for more players. Interested students should visit the club’s website for sign on details.
