On Saturday, the start of the home and away AIC Cricket and Volleyball season begins. Our College teams will play Villanova College this week. Playing and venue details have been posted on the St Patrick’s College APP. Players are required to be in full College sports specific uniform and arrive at the playing venue thirty minutes before the start of play to participate in warm up routines.

A reminder to our community that schoolboy sport is about having fun, playing with your mates, developing new skills and representing St Patrick’s. Parents are asked to remain positive when supporting our teams and when having a family discussion regarding the game’s outcome.

Tonight, our swim team travelled to St Peter’s Lutheran College to participate in the first AIC swim meet of the year. Students are encouraged to attend all meets to assist our coaches in selecting our most competitive team for the AIC Championships to be held on Monday 6 March at Chandler Aquatic Centre. Our Inter-House Swimming Carnival will be held at Sandgate pool on Friday 17 February. This carnival has College championship events. Students are selected into these races from performances at the AIC meets every Friday night. Please contact Head Coach and Coordinator of Swimming Kelsey Duke for more details. Well done to the many swimmers who have been consistently training hard with our coaches. Each Wednesday morning is a full squad session at Sandgate pool and coaches require all members to participate in this session.

Parents and students are reminded that the Uniform Shop stocks all sport uniform requirements. Students are expected to be dressed appropriately while playing and spectating. Full formal uniform must be worn by student spectators. Students arriving directly before warm up commences may arrive in playing uniform. When students remain at the playing venue, to support their fellow College mates, they must change into formal uniform. Unfortunately students may be excluded from playing or spectating if College procedure is not followed. Please contact individual sports coordinators if acquiring a uniform presents a problem.

Our Cross Country coordinator Mr Tim Hoysted and Head Coach Mr Jackson Alves have organised a tour to Melbourne from the 1 – 4 April. Students in Years 7 - 12 are eligible to apply to attend. Please return the expression of interest form sent via the St Patrick’s College APP by Friday 10 February if you would like to attend.

Football and Rugby players are reminded that during the Easter holiday’s various activities will be available. Rugby camps, clinics and trial games will be held from the 3 - 5 April. Football Year 6 – Open teams will be entered into the EREA tournament in Western Brisbane from the 10-12 April.

Our running group the Shorncliffe Shufflers are leaving the plaza area at 6am on Sunday morning for a 6 or 10 km run. New runners from the community are welcome to join us. Bridge to Brisbane, Jetty to Jetty and various other 1/2 & full marathon runners already in training!
