To celebrate the end of the year, members of the Indonesian Club had a dinner at the local Indonesian restaurant, Mamaku. The local owner and chef, Mie Mie, spoke Indonesian with the students, giving them an opportunity to practise their skills outside of the classroom. Some of the delicious meals included Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Mie Goreng (fried noodles), Sate Ayam (satay chicken), Bakso (meatball soup) and Cumi-Cumi (calamari). Some of our more adventurous students also tried the es cendol drink for dessert.
The Year 8 students, who have just finished a unit on food and restaurants, also had the opportunity to experience a delicious Indonesian lunch from Mamaku this week.
