From the Deputy Principal
The final week of term is a week of high emotion. Students are completing assessment and teachers are busy marking and preparing classes. As a parent, I have endured the late nights and early mornings of my children studying and preparing for exams. We hope that with everybody working and supporting each other, our children can reach their full potential. I am certainly, like my children, looking forward to the end of this week when we will be able to take a short break to recharge and spend some quality time with friends and family.
This term has been positive with the young men being enthusiastically involved in a range of College activities; over 250 students were involved in Inter-House Chess, we had full participation in the Swimming carnival, 200 runners competed in the Great Morven Race, and a large number of students received academic medals or encouragement awards. Finally, the commitment to S2G by the young men has certainly been inspiring with the amount of money they have collected. I certainly hope the Term One reports reflect the effort and positive tone around the College.
At the end of this term we farewell Mr Matthew Hawkins from St Patrick’s College. Matthew has contributed enormously to the formation of the young men of our College. He has been a dedicated and loyal staff member, friend and mentor to many people. I would like to publicly thank Matthew for the impact that he has had on me. He challenges and inspires you in so many ways, from fashion to advocacy. We are fortunate that Matthew will remain in our EREA network as he takes up his new role. We wish him well and thank his wonderful family for their support over the years.
Finally, Term Two commences on Monday 11 April for all students.A reminder that all students must wear the College tie during Term Two. Please ensure your son has his ready for the first day back. Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 must also wear long trousers and the College blazer to and from the College each day.
Enjoy the Easter break,
