Leadership Across the College
The question is often asked how students experience leadership at the College. This semester each House will appoint two year level representatives each term. These young men will be responsible for canvassing issues and formulating solutions with their peers. They may even be responsible for organising lunches and activities at lunch time. A requirement of their role is that they attend meetings with the other year level representatives from their House, with meetings run and organised by the House Leaders. On Friday, many year level representatives organised their peers into divisions and mustered House spirit throughout the day. Students who have been elected in a term are not able to be reelected in the current year. It is hoped that by the time the young men have reached Year 12 they have represented their House a number of times. These elected young men will be acknowledged and presented at individual House Assemblies.
The Inter-House Competition
The Athletics Carnival last Friday was exceptionally well attended and there was an excellent spirit of participation and competitiveness. Special thanks need to go to our staff for a magnificent job on the day and for the smooth running of the carnival. The year level winners will be announced next week.
Year 5 Camp Form
Year 5 camp forms have been handed to all students. Copies of the camp form can be found on the Connect page. Please ensure all forms are completed and returned to the Class Teachers before Friday 11 September 2015.
I would like to remind parents about procedures regarding mobile phones at the College. Students are allowed mobile phones as we understand the need for communication in many situations. Students can place their phone in the Student Office for safe keeping during the day. Our policy is that if we see a phone during school hours we will take that phone. If there is any concern about the use of a phone we will check the contents of that phone. We encourage every student to use his phone appropriately or risk losing the privilege of having a mobile phone at school.
