All Year 10 History Students (undertaking the year-long course AND the semester course) will be competing in the Australian History Competition on Tuesday 27 May during History classes. The competition runs for 45 minutes and consists of 50 multiple choice questions that are based on stimulus materials.

Students can prepare for this competition by reading ahead in their Year 10 History Alive textbook, to gain a feel for the Australian History covered this year. Questions from the Year 9 History course may also be included in the competition. Whilst recalling knowledge (dates/events) is not the purpose of the competition, having an understanding of the different periods in Australian history will enable students to comprehend the sources in the competition more quickly and effectively.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to test their skills against students from across the nation.

For more information on the competition, including sample questions from 2014, please visit the website below, or talk to your History teacher.
