At St Patrick's College we believe that the provision of the Catholic Faith for our school community is at the core of everything that we do. We do not believe that our role is to only educate our students in the Catholic Faith, rather we aim to nurture the spiritual development of the whole school community. This Faith is explored not only in the classroom but in our many service solidarity programs and retreat experiences.
The Religious Education classroom is our primary focus to help our students deepen their faith and help make sense of what is happening in their lives. Every effort is made to make our Religious curriculum relevant to our student needs. We believe that the Religious classroom is the primary place where our students begin their faith journey.
To complement our Religious Education Curriculum, St Patrick's College offers a comprehensive sequential retreat and service solidarity program for our school community. The sequential retreat program is offered to all year levels and has been designed to allow our students the opportunity to depth their understanding of their own faith and spirituality. St Patrick's believes that the provision of a sequential retreat program is a vital strategy in making the Catholic Faith more real to our community. in an ever increasing secular world it is vital that we present to our students a spritual armour that they find appealing, genuine and relevant.
Similar to our Retreat Program, the Service Solidarity Programs challenge our students to put their "Faith into Action". Our service programs aim to develop a "Relational Spirituality' between the staff, parents and students of St Patrick's College and the poor and marginalised people in the greater Brisbane area. By this we mean that we hope to go beyond a 'charity model' of relating with people in need to a model that focuses upon relationships. We challenge our school community whilst serving, to develop genuine relationships with the patrons of our service programs. The weekly service solidarity programs at St Patrick's certainly allow our students to live out their faith.
